As i look back at the time passed by in COEP .. there are some people i will never forget....
Pratik
I owe my engineering to this person.. he has been the whole and sole reason why i am living today in coep.. he has always been more than a friend to me .. i met him in first year since he was in my practical batch..THE B batch..we became very good friends ..Be it assignments ,submissions or even class tests pratik was always the only person on .. I still remember those days when we had to complete 6 sheets in Engineering Drawings ..popularly know as GRAPHICS .. (the one subject where pratik was a master...he happened to be the topper)..we had 6 sheets and just 3 days .. that was the first time i entered the COEP BOYS HOSTEL .. I had never experienced what hostel life was like.. It was the place where i found life .All because of pratik and his friends who later became my friends to(PJ,KATTU,PINTU,RANJEET,CHINTU,ASHU,HARYA,BABA etc). It was the place where i made loads of friends and got to know about the COEP culture and the various activities that were there in our college .. It was the place where I saw boys like me .. with immense determination ..who had slogged for 2 years and had come all the way to pune in this prestigious institute with lots of dreams and aspirations .. Pratik was one of these with lots of dreams
Aadinath
I met Aadinath and was glad to know that he was in the same department as mine ... we knew each other since 12th standard but then were not that good as friends.. As college commenced our friendship also grew .. both of us happpend to be in the same practical batches.. This guy was super brilliant he always could answer any dam question and could solve any dam problem given to us .. He was also a saviour for people like me in the examinations...Aadinath was always enthusiastic about creative stuff .. As far as i know.. he is a admirer of indian classical music,he loves quizzing ,and also loves chemistry,astronomy,etc...besides this he is extremly strong with his technical fundas and can take anyone's case if challenged .. i too was dam scared of him ..I still remember the 10 marks Chemistry presentations which we had to do ....Aadianth ,I and Krishna happened to be in one group .. we prepared our presentation on co-ordiantion compounds ..it lasted for 45 mins ..and guess wat we were the only group to have scored 10 out 10 marks out of 4 branches .. It was all due to Aadinath .. In the first year Aadinath grew his hair so long that due to the effect of the wind he had got these weird curls and a weird shape .. we all still remember that look ... He always was enthusiastic about wat was happening in college and interacted with many seniors .. he soon came to be called as the 'ENTHUFRESHER'...But there was one thing which i never liked of him was that he was very blunt whenever he spoke .. but then he always said this the way i am ... and never did hurt anyone intensionally .. We had one of the best moments in F.Y .Btech ..Later on he topped our class and got a branh change.. In the second year we worked together for Mind Spark 2008 sponsorship and here too ..had one of our best times.. further on in the 3rd year .. we decided to organize Mind Spark 2009 .. it was Aadinath who was gonna guide us through.. as the overall head .. I alongwith Shakkar,Rao,Gantu,MadB,Divya,Azam and Shrikant formed the core committee.. we worked day and night and made Mind Spark 2009 the biggest festivals in Pune .. During the course of the event .. we developed a closer bonding amongst ourselves and lead our friendship to another stage...
Gantavya (Gantu)
Here is a guy who i didnt know at all ..neither from Pune ,nor from my own branch ..and not even a common friend ...but today he is one of my best buddies in COEP ..he is like a bro to me .i still remember the way we met .. It was the day when we had our Boat club inaug..I was waiting outside Boat Club ..and chatting with a few new friends ..and Gantavya was standing aside ..suddenly i started speaking about waterpolo and this was the first time when Gantu spoke he too showed interest in waterpolo and from that moment onwards we became friends (but he never turned up for selections :P:P)...We went together for the boat club inaug together..and from that day onwards became friends ...
Gantu was also a part of the ENTHUFRESHERS gang we had in COEP...he used to be into all activities ..an excellent debator,decent table tenis player ...awesome at poetry ..Gantu was also an hostelite so was a really cool dude ..never did he worry about studies ..always lived every moment ...and played all sought of pranks on everyone...gantu always told me "tu bhari hai re ...tension mat le"...these words used to be as an encourage booster for me ... when ever we met during our off lecs we used to chat and have an awesome time together ....we also enjoyed our time in college ..Gantu was also a part of the world record team we were one of the very few first years ..and used to have a blast ... later when Trad day and DJ night came the fun and friendship grew .. as months passed in COEP Gantu and I became very good friends ..we worked together in the sponsorship team for Mind Spark ..and later both of us landed up being heads of our respective departments in the Mind Spark core committee...even here we made sure we helped each other in whatever work we did and made sure that the event was a huge success.. Today Gantu is the one friend in this college I can trust....he will be one friend I will never forget in COEP and my life ..cheers to our friendship gantu
